Jim Henson's Labyrinth: In Concert 40th Anniversary
Friday, October 9 at The Astro Theater, Omaha
About this event
Jim Henson's Labyrinth: In Concert 40th Anniversary brings the cult fantasy film to The Astro Theater in La Vista, just outside Omaha, with the movie shown on an HD screen while a live band performs the soundtrack in sync with David Bowie’s original vocals. The touring production celebrates the film’s 40th anniversary and pairs Bowie’s songs with Trevor Jones’ score for a concert-screening experience. (theastrotheater.com)
What to expect
The show presents Jim Henson’s Labyrinth as a full-film screening with live music: a band performs the complete soundtrack alongside Bowie’s recorded vocals while Sarah, Jareth the Goblin King, and the film’s Creature Shop creations play out on screen. Event materials also invite fans to dress in costume, sing along, and cheer for favorite characters. (theastrotheater.com)
Why go
For Omaha-area fans of Labyrinth, David Bowie, and Jim Henson’s imaginative world, this 40th anniversary edition at The Astro Theater offers a different way to revisit the 1986 musical fantasy: the film remains intact, but its songs and score are brought forward as a live concert experience.
