Night Light: Groove After Dark
Saturday, June 27 at Kiewit Luminarium, Omaha
During this 21+ adults-only Night Light, we’ll explore the many ways we can take inspiration from the freedom and collaboration of jazz. Beyond music, we’ll consider how the principles of improvisation can shape how we build community and show up in our relationships and daily lives.
What to expect
This 21+ Night Light asks what a groove is and how people find rhythm together, create harmony, and turn sound into song. Alongside the event’s focus on jazz, freedom, and improvisation, Kiewit Luminarium lists programming that includes a community conversation, music-learning activities with a NOMA faculty member, instrument-making with Nebraska Public Media, music-production plugins from Make Believe Studios, guitar and pedal technology with Ground Floor Guitars, and interactive sound-and-media work from Omaha creators and Johnny Carson Center for Emerging Media Arts artists. Why go
Groove After Dark is built for adults who want a museum night that links music to bigger questions: how improvisation shapes creativity, community, and the ways people show up for one another. It also fits Kiewit Luminarium’s broader Night Light format, where grownups can explore interactive exhibits and rotating programs in an adults-only setting on Omaha’s riverfront.
