Shaun Cassidy - UNWRAPPED: Songs & Stories For The Holidays
Friday, November 20 at The Admiral, Omaha
About this event
Shaun Cassidy brings decades of music, television and storytelling to the stage with “Unwrapped.” The Grammy-nominated singer and acclaimed TV writer revisits his pop-star roots while sharing new material, personal stories and plenty of holiday spirit.
Who's playing
Cassidy is a Grammy-nominated singer who made his name in the 1970s with hits like "Da Doo Ron Ron" and "Hey Deanie" and starred in The Hardy Boys Mysteries. He later became a TV writer and producer, with credits including American Gothic, Cold Case and New Amsterdam. He is the son of Jack Cassidy and Shirley Jones, and the half-brother of David Cassidy.
What to expect
This is a songs-and-stories evening, not a straight greatest-hits set. Cassidy has toured a similar format before, with his self-written show The Magic of a Midnight Sky. For UNWRAPPED he has been recording new holiday material. Expect a mix of pop-star memories, new songs and holiday spirit, with stories connecting them.
Why go
Cassidy has had two careers, and this show covers both. The Admiral is a 1926 South Omaha hall that was once Sokol Auditorium and was renovated in 2022. It makes a good setting for a night of storytelling and music. It suits anyone who grew up with his records or his TV work.
