Zoolightful
Wednesday, November 18 at Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium, Omaha
About this event
Make your holidays glow at Zoolightful. Explore dazzling lights, spectacular lanterns and interactive experiences across an expanded footprint. Journey through an African safari and underwater worlds, then treat yourself to seasonal goodies. For more details, go to https://zoolightful.omahazoo.com/.
What to expect
You walk the zoo's pathways past animal lanterns, light-covered archways and festive scenes, starting along Holiday Way. Stops include Santa's North Pole, the Reindeer Game Zone, storytime with holiday characters in the Merry Magic Theater, and Wild Explorer VR pods in the Polar Plaza. Some indoor buildings are open too, including the aquarium and Kingdoms of the Night, so there are places to warm up.
Why go
It is a holiday outing built for families, and it looks very different from a daytime zoo visit. Adults can slip into the Frostbite Lounge, a cozy 21-and-over bar in the Durham Lodge. Seasonal sweets and cocoa are part of the walk. The event runs for weeks each winter, so it works as a yearly tradition for many Omaha families.
